Yassir Achak- MOROCCO

WFPFMENA, Sponsored Athletes1 Comment

Hello, Bonjour, Marhaba!!  (English, French, Arabic!)

My name is Yassir Achak and I’m a freerunner and from Tangier, Morocco and I’m 19 years old.   I also love the Circus Arts and would love to do that professionally!  I have been an athlete pretty much my entire life and have done sports ranging from football, basketball, swimming and running.  I have always been committed to not only learning a sport, but becoming competent enough to the point where I can excel at it.  This makes me know new friends, new things in life.  I speak 3 languages: Arabic, English, and French as most of us do in Morocco.  I participated in the biggest show in Morocco “Cop22” with company Herve Koubi.  In Moroccan parkour competitions, I won 2 times the first place, and one time 3rd place.   My Parkour journey began when I was 12 years old when I started to learn backflips and side flips on the beach.   I am proud to be part of the WFPF, and told WFPF co-founder David Thompson so!  I had met him when he was here in 2013 for the ESPN/WFPF/Samsung project.  When I won third prize at the Meknes, Parkour competition this September 2017, he presented me with the trophy, and later asked me to be a WFPF sponsored athlete representing Morocco!  I told him it was my dream come true.  I am excited for what the future holds!  Parkour/Freerunning changed my life, now i definitely cannot say that life is boring or something cause everyday is a new adventure for me . Thank you WFPF for caring about Morocco and about me!
